These terms govern your use of the SG Baddy app. By creating an account or using the app you agree to them.
1. What SG Baddy is
SG Baddy is a platform that connects badminton players in Singapore: hosts publish games, players join and pay through the app. Games are organised and run by their hosts, not by us — we provide the marketplace, payment handling and rating system.
2. Accounts
- You must be at least 13 years old and provide accurate information.
- One account per person; you're responsible for activity on yours.
- Declare your genuine skill level. Levels are verified over time through anonymous peer ratings; deliberately misdeclaring to join easier games ("sandbagging") is against these terms and is also self-correcting — the rating system will move you.
3. Hosting games
- Hosts are responsible for the accuracy of their listing (venue, time, level range, price) and for actually securing the court.
- Hosts receiving payments complete identity verification with Stripe, our payment provider, before their first paid game goes live.
- Host payouts are held until after the game finishes, so player refunds are always possible; payouts are then released automatically.
- Cancelling a game less than 24 hours before start counts as a late cancellation ("strike"), visible to other players in aggregate. Repeated strikes suspend the ability to publish new games.
4. Joining and paying
- The price shown when you join is the total you pay. Payment is processed by Stripe; free games involve no payment.
- Joining a paid game holds your slot for 30 minutes while you complete payment; unpaid holds expire and the slot is released.
- Some games can be joined only by request (games below your verified level) — the host decides.
5. Cancellations and refunds
- You cancel ≥ 24 hours before start: full refund of what you paid.
- You cancel < 24 hours before start: no refund — unless another player later takes your freed slot and pays, in which case you're refunded automatically.
- The host cancels the game: every paid player is refunded in full, always.
- Refunds return to your original payment method; timing depends on your bank (PayNow refunds typically arrive the same day, cards within 5–10 business days).
- Not turning up to a game you paid for does not entitle you to a refund.
6. Ratings
- After a game you may be asked to rate randomly assigned co-players. Rate honestly; ratings are anonymous and only ever shown as aggregates.
- Ratings feed each player's verified level. Attempting to manipulate ratings (coordinated rating, retaliation) is against these terms.
7. Conduct
Play fair and be decent to other players. Harassment, discrimination, dangerous play, or using the app for anything unlawful may lead to warnings, suspension, or account termination. Money owed to you (refunds, host payouts for completed games) is unaffected by a termination.
8. Liability
- Badminton is a physical sport — you take part at your own risk and are responsible for your own fitness and insurance.
- We are not a party to the games themselves and are not liable for what happens at a venue, for a host's conduct, or for a venue's condition.
- To the maximum extent permitted by Singapore law, our liability for any claim connected to the app is limited to the amount you paid through the app in the 12 months before the claim.
9. The service
We may update, add, or remove features, and may suspend the service for maintenance. We may update these terms; material changes will be announced in the app before they take effect.
10. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of Singapore, and disputes are subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the Singapore courts.
